Dofollow Your Heart – The Five Sexiest Men Of SEO

by GuestBlogStar on May 10, 2013

Every field has it’s Johnny Depps–the talented kooks and brains type–and SEO is no different. These men are accomplished, innovative and have helped shape the field into what it is as we know it. All of this (and a nice smile) has made them five of the sexiest men in SEO. See if your guesses made the list.

5. Matt Cutts

Matt Cutts has been a software engineer at Google since 2000 and is the head of their Webspam team. With a Ph.D in computer graphics from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill this young SEO whiz is both good looking and well educated. If you don’t believe me you can check out The Short Cutts, a collection of videos in which he answers some of SEO’s toughest questions in 2-3 minute videos.

4. Tim Mayer

Tim Mayer is an SEO guru having worked for five different search engines since 1999. His most recent gig was at Yahoo where he was VP of search market share. He is someone who has the inside dish on the search engine game and was a major resource for Yahoo until his departure in 2010. He believes when it comes to SEO people way over think things saying, “people think there is a lot of voodoo in SEO” and he says that “if you create a great site with good content built for the user, you will do well long term.” Consider these wise words because when Yahoo was on top Tim was a large factor for such a success and in SEO world he is a local celebrity.  So although we are listing him for his dashing good looks it’s important to note Tim Mayer he is great at what he does—and possibly the best!

3. Danny Sullivan

You can find his name in The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Forbes and the LA Times, to name a few. His expertise in the field makes him an SEO gem! He is currently one of the Found Editors of Search Engine Land and also works as the Chief Content Officer for Third Door Media. If his fun, well-crafted writing is any indication of his personality then he likely great company to keep.

2. John Battelle

At only 45, Mr. Battelle is a journalist, an entrepreneur, author and professor. He has founded and co-founded businesses, website and magazines and was an Executive producer and founder of the Web 2.0 conference. For many, his book, “The Search, How Google And Its Rivals Rewrote the Rules of Business and Transformed Our Culture,” is offered the most powerful insight into SEO when it was published. We could spend a full day discussing his accolades and resume but instead we’ll cut to the chase. He is a very handsome guy whose charm and wit are just as notable as his entrepreneurship. You should definitely expect to see a lot more of this stylish CEO.  He is certainly a well-rounded and accomplished catch.

1. Rand Fishkin

And the sexiest man in SEO is…Rand Fishkin, CEO of SEO software company SEOmoz. Mr. Fishkin is well decorated in the SEO world having been named one of BusinessWeek’s 30 Best Tech Entreprenuers Under 30 and listed on PSBJ’s 40 under 40 list. Rand certainly has a boyish charm and dazzling smile that makes him easy on the eyes. He wears his hair almost exclusively gelled up and to the left side and he sports a trademark beard that has become like his staple in the industry. If you can’t spot him just from the beard keep an eye out for the guy in a suit and bright yellow tennis shoes. He says his yellow Pumas are a personal fashion trademark and he’s worn them to conferences and SEO events since he started in the field. So he’s handsome, all but famous, full of personality and has a go-get ‘em attitude, but is he available? Sorry ladies Mr. Fishkin has a Mrs. Fishkin that he runs around the world with! In fact if you’re interested you can read all about their travels in her extensive travel blog.
